Mineral
Minerals are defined as natural compounds formed through geological processes. Minerals are not only limited to the chemical composition of a substance but also its structure. Mineral composition is distinguished from pure elements and simple salts to very complex silicate with thousands of known forms. According to JMG's research, the country has significant mineral reserves for the development of the mineral industry in our country. Malaysia is internationally involved in Ammin, ASOMM, APEC and CCOP. Activities undertaken under this Fora include information sharing, research and development of mineral industry and human capital development.
Geoscience
Geoscience is identified as a field of scientific study related to earth science. Geoscience covers areas such as geological engineering, geophysics, hydrogeology, environmental geology, heritage geology, marine geology, petroleum geology and earth chemicals. Geoscience involves earth scientific research, including composition, physical properties, structure, evolution, tectonic history and natural resources (geological sources) contained in it. Geoscience investigation and research that leads to understanding the origin and distribution of resources, the nature and evolution of the landscape of the earth and various environmental and climate changes that influence every life of the earth. Geoscience activities include geological mapping, hydrogeology or groundwater studies, geological engineering, environmental geology and heritage geology.
